A skip in my step. Love is bliss♥

In a previous blog, I mentioned that the venue is one of the most crucial decisions couples  must make for their wedding day. It + the food takes the biggest chunk of the wedding and it is the one that leaves the lasting impression on the guests. Hence it is also the hardest one to find with all the things the couple has to consider- the location, how to get there, seating capacity, price, supplier's feedback, promos and etc.

I have been trying so hard to find a venue that fitted my requirements but I wanted to give up because i have been googling and googling and googling for ages to no avail, all I ever saw were suppliers that we could never afford: like Oasis, Light of Love, Glass Garden, Fernwood, and Solea. Patio Ibarra was a close contender but their packages didnt include tax so if you add it up, it wouldnt be so cheap after all.

But on that fateful day, january 6, I came across THE VILLAGE PATIO..I tried varied keywords but I couldnt find it but after a few tries here and there, voila! I found the website. Oh, such bridal heaven for me.

it fitted most if not all of my requirements.

1) It is in Quezon City, and of all places, Sikatuna! Sikatuna is so close to my heart because of my previous job which, can be a completely different blog.
2) It is near Twin Hearts! Twin Hearts is technically the Parish of Sacred Hearts of jesus and mary but people like to call it as Twin Hearts. I've been eyeing this church and this is actually the reason why we originally wanted patio ibarra but the Village Patio is much better because of certain things.
3) The price- but of course, this is quite the deciding factor. The venues mentioned above are pretty for sure but there's no point asking if we cant afford them. Village patio, on the other hand asks for venue fee below 10,000k if you get their in-house caterer, tarlaquena
4) Everything else- The place looks so pretty and it's not too small either. the website says they can accommodate 250 but I think we'll be able to squeeze more guests here and there...

But enough of the blah-blah!..time to show to you what I'm talking about!

They have tiffany chairs!!!!! Can it get any better??

Who'd pass to salad if it looks like this?

Such a nice presentation for a classic

I'm a sucker for blue :)

Simple yet elegant table arrangement

Now that you've seen the photos, do you beg to disagree? Hay, really want it to be the Village Patio..keep your fingers(and even toes) crossed. haha...Hope the "elders" and everything else falls into place :)

Update as of February 14,2011

Happy hearts day y'all! ♥ My friend and I passed by the Village Patio last night and I think, there's a 90% chance that we're getting them.. There was a wedding going on and I was able to see a glimpse of the interior for the first time..chills! We're actually considering another one in Novaliches but instinct just tells me to go with the village patio, especially now that more comments and feedbacks are cropping up on Google... so, so happy ☺

Anong petsa nah!!!!!!!!

You can say it in that oh-so-impatient tone or any other tone you like but  I just thought it was appropriate for this blog. Anyway, i may have shared with a few people that after the 8-8-8 phenomenon of people wanting to get married on that date, i became obsessed with getting married on a day that looks interesting on paper

8-9-10- august 9 2010
9-10-11 september 10, 2011
11-11-11- november 11 2011
11-11-11 was the leading contender since it fell on the ber months(malamig) and it was composed of one number lang. However, meio felt we wouldnt be ready by then so i had to come up with alternate ones which are

2-12-12- feb 12, 2012
1-21-12 january 21, 2012
4-8-12-april 8 2012

among these three, the leading contender was feb12 2012 but I realized logistic problems
-It was so close to Valentines day so traffic, buying flowers and booking other suppliers would be a nightmare
-My dad is an OFW so going home in February is a bit of a hassle and waste of leave

So Meio and I had a conversation on the phone and I was getting quite frustrated because I had been set on that date before I realized the problems. He suggested that we get married in June which I totally disliked because it was so cliche abroad but is not applicable to the Philippine climate(malaking chance na bagyuhin kami) and he suggested April na ayoko na naman dahil April na ang birthday ko...He just gave up on me and we hung up.
As I was about to sleep(baka panaginip na dahil epiphany.haha), i realized something. Our birthdays are 6 days apart. If March 29 would be the start of a week, April 4 would be the end of it.
March 29=day 1
April 4=day 7
If our birthdays start and end a week, in the middle of it would be April 1....and though April 1 obviously falls on April, i couldnt care less because of the symbolism

Our marriage should be the center of our relationship, we should think about each other before we think about ourselves.
When one becomes self-centered, we must find ways to find common ground
It'll be one week of partey! partey! every year :D
If we're strapped for cash, we can just hold one celebration which will cover all three

4-1-12 doesn't sound as good as 2-12-12 but I'd settle for this date which can mean much more after a closer look.

not so definite details of a definite wedding

There was a time when I stopped blogging because
1) I was quite unsure whether we'd still push through the plans made earlier
2) I getting tired of coming across the same suppliers over and over again so there was nothing new to blog about...BUT

Thursday, January 6, I came across this awesome awesome thread and a new name cropped up so my hopes got high again. It was also about the same time that Meio and I were talking about dates, hence I now have 2 new details to blog about

1) the date we agreed upon thanks to meio's enthusiasm about this that is getting better as I blog(I'm not speaking eh, cant use that expression.haha)
2) the venue!!!!!!

Gone are the days when the couple cant talk in their own wedding "meeting" but we still value the opinion of our parents. Though nothing is certain until the 'pamamanhikan', I'll talk about these two in separate blogs.
